CASE FILE 050 - HONDURAS
We officially made it to Case File 50.
Fifty coffees. Fifty small releases. Fifty different stories, origins, processes, and flavor profiles that have made their way through Coffee Conspiracy. For number 50, we’re heading to Honduras with a natural that immediately got my attention when the samples landed.
This coffee is straight-up peanut butter and jelly.
In the cup we’re getting chocolate, strawberry jelly, juicy fruit pops, and florals, followed by this earthy, peanut butter-like finish on the back end. And for a natural, it finishes incredibly clean. It has all that fruit and character we love from a natural process without becoming overly funky or fermented.
Peanut butter and jelly has always been one of my favorite snacks and flavor combinations, so when I first tasted this coffee, it just clicked. The strawberry sweetness against the chocolate and that nutty finish instantly took me there. It’s nostalgic, a little weird, and ridiculously fun to drink.
There’s something pretty fitting about Case File 50 being a coffee like this. When we started the Case Files, the whole idea was to find coffees that stood out—small lots that were interesting enough that we wanted to share them, even if we could only get our hands on a limited amount.
Fifty releases later, that’s still the conspiracy.
