Case File 48 - RWANDA
Most shops chase Ethiopian coffees — and don’t get me wrong, I get it. Ethiopia produces some of the most explosive and recognizable coffees in the world. But personally? I’ve always had a soft spot for a really clean, balanced Rwandan coffee. There’s something about the sweetness and structure that keeps me coming back.
Case File 48 is a dried natural from the Mutovu Washing Station tucked into the Nyamasheke Forest of Rwanda. This coffee bursts with notes of cherry jam, dried fruit, and orange blossom, backed by a juicy sweetness and delicate body that makes the entire cup feel layered without being overwhelming. It’s sweet, clean, expressive, and insanely easy to keep drinking.
This coffee works beautifully as both drip and espresso, but honestly — it really comes alive as a pour over. The clarity and floral character open up in a way that feels almost tea-like while still carrying that deep natural-process fruit sweetness. It’s one of those coffees that reminds you why slower brewing methods still matter.
