Case File 39 - UGANDA
Our latest release takes us deep into the slopes of Mt. Elgon, in Uganda’s Sipi region — a place that doesn’t often make it into the spotlight of specialty coffee, but absolutely deserves it. This washed lot from producers throughout northern Mt. Elgon showcases just how complex and expressive Ugandan coffee can be when handled with care. It cups with notes of orange, tropical fruit, and black tea, wrapped in caramel sweetness and a syrupy body that makes every sip feel layered and alive.
The producers here grow Bourbon varieties — SL14, SL28, and Blue Mountain — in rich volcanic loam soil between 1300 and 2000 meters. The result is a cup that’s vibrant yet grounded, bright yet full-bodied. It’s a profile that feels familiar to anyone who loves African coffees but distinct enough to stand on its own.
Case File 39 is one of those coffees. Rare, expressive, and absolutely worth getting excited about.
